Chemicals are harming your body.

Over 80,000 chemicals flow through our system of commerce, and many are going straight into our bodies. Even our unborn children are affected.

In fact over 200 chemicals have been found in newborn babies blood. These contaminants included mercury, fire retardants, pesticides and the teflon chemical PFOA.

Of the 287 chemicals detected in umbilical cord blood via research conducted by the American Environmental Working Group, 180 cause cancer in humans or animals, 217 are toxic to the brain and nervous system, and 208 cause birth defects or abnormal development in animal tests. Pretty shocking isn’t it.

Due to this constant exposure, we have approximately 200 synthetic industrial chemicals interacting with our cells every single day. Until recently, modern science really didn’t understand what that could mean for all of us in the long run, but that is changing. Scientists now refer to these chemicals as Endocrine Disruptors, meaning, they interfere with normal hormone functioning in our body.

Globally, disease rates are on the rise. Theories about the causes abound, yet the issues are complex and often muddied by the manoeuvring of political and corporate interests. To explore different facets of common chemical exposure, Unacceptable Levels, a brilliant documentary was made which you can watch for FREE using this link.

Watch it tonight, it’s a subject everyone should be aware of.

Of course eating organic with My Goodness Organics is one fantastic way of making sure you avoid all those shitty chemicals.

Making sure you replace all toxic, endocrine disrupting cleaning and personal care products with safe, natural ingredients is another. You really can make your home completely free of environmental contaminants if you try!

doTerra is such an awesome way to ditch the chemicals in and around your home using nothing but the best plant based compounds.

Having an essential oil kit in your home means you can throw out all your traditional cleaning products, air fresheners, body products and perfumes. Nearly all of those products we buy from the supermarket are laced with endocrine disrupting chemicals.

According to the Environmental Working Group (EWG) study, 72% of products with the ingredient “fragrance” contained endocrine disruptors called phthalates. Phthalates have been linked to diabetes, obesity, liver and breast cancer, hormone disruption affecting fertility and development.

The National Academy of Sciences, working with an expert panel, stated that there may be cancer-causing chemicals in fragrance recipes, but there is no way for the consumer to make informed decisions. Up to 95% of these chemicals are derived from petrochemicals that are known to cause cancer, birth defects, nervous system disorders, asthma, and allergies.

So with all that in mind here's a simple DIY deodorant recipe that will inspire you to ditch one toxic product at a time in place of something that not only smells divine NATURALLY but also has health benefits rather than significant detriments.
